V.W. Salt Flats race busThis one was built to go with the Unimog car hauler. Reminds me of something you'd see at the Bonneille Salt Flats. The chassis layout was based on trying to shoe horn the fat tires under the wheel wells. The chassis is milled from .250" aluminum plate. The front & rear suspension carriers are removable & adjustable. The r&p are the 2 small spider gears from a Tamiya M05 differential. The suspension components are a combination of 3Racing and stock M05 parts. Since the ratio is 1:1 I used a 85T motor. The rear HPI Fuchs were widened by adding an aluminum inner wheel halves, and the fronts were narrowed. Tires are HPI Vintage Performance tires. The body is from Team Blue Groove. |
